Would this recipe be good/ok for soft/purée diet? Minus the tortillas?

in my opinion, there is too much going on with this recipe for the soft/puree phase...I would save for use until I was about 2 months out...ground beef is something I wouldn't try on puree stage...same thing for olives and some other ingredients I see listed....for the puree stage, if you are craving Mexican food, I suggest refried Beans with some grated cheese melted on top...nothing wrong with the cream of chicken Soup and perhaps you could add a little bit of enchilada sauce for a Mexican taste...you are less than a couple of weeks out, so I would go slowly...I know it's difficult and seems like it will be forever until you can eat solid foods, but truly these early phases go by quickly

Oh yeah I totally missed the beef. Yeah I can't have that. I think I'll layer some Beans and cheese with some sauce or seasonings and top with some sour cream. If I can tolerate of course. Just saw this pin and thought it looked good!!!

An easy dish for a Mexican soft dish is just some ground turkey with taco seasoning put with a little refried Beans and a tad of cheese..

You can even have it in the purée stage if you out a quick blend on it.

I second what Laura said. In fact, I have a pound of ground turkey that I precooked as crumbles and somewhat generically seasoned in my freezer (it's pretty easy to swing it toward either Italian or Mexican by adding a few more seasonings). I weigh out about an ounce of the turkey and add it to refried Beans for my Mexican fix along with a little cheese, or I use it on top of ricotta bake to boost the Protein and add flavor.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
