cejiogu 182 Posted July 19, 2013 It depends on what you do. If you have a desk job you maybe able to handle it. Iam a labor and delivery nurse. I took 8 weeks off because of what my job entails. Standing lifting for several hours at a time. You are the one that can judge but for me if you can afford stay home as long as hey will give u. You don't get extra sleeve points for going back early! prettilips3 15 Posted July 19, 2013 Hi there, That is pretty quick to go back to work already. I had mine on 6/10/13 and went back to work after 5 weeks. If you don't feel up to it I would check with your HR dept and find out how much time you are allotted? Good luck
lucy00us 7 Posted July 19, 2013 Thank you all for the quick replies...I have plenty of weeks paid in full at work under my disability plan, but I'm concern with the job responsibilities. I'll wait until Monday morning and decide. Lucy
Sleeve tattoo 17 Posted July 20, 2013 I have a desk job but I had the time.to use also. I was out for two months. You need to take all the time ur body needs. Best wishes to u
Pixie Dust 526 Posted July 20, 2013 I would take all the time I needed for sure. Of course, it's only been since Tuesday that I had my surgery & I still feel like I was run over by a Mac truck ~ twice! It's easier to stay off when you're off rather going back to work & realizing you went back too soon. Good luck to you on whatever you decide Lucy!
TheNickelMax 26 Posted July 20, 2013 I have surgery on 7/10 and went back to work the following Monday (7/15). My surgeon was a little surprised I went back so soon. I think it's completely up to the individual. If you're tolerating the pain and your job is super physical, try half days or partial shifts to build up your confidences. Itsme! 98 Posted July 20, 2013 I took 10 days but could have gone back in 5. It depends on how you're doing. 1 lucy00us reacted to this
thetattooedlady 114 Posted July 20, 2013 I took two weeks off...but I wish I had taken longer. I was sleeved on July 1st and I'm still having issues...I get really tired and often very nauseous.
SpaceDust 585 Posted July 20, 2013 I could have gone back pretty easily 6 days after surgery, but I waited until 13 days and probably benefited from the extra rest time. When I went back to work, it was to a brand new job at a new company, and I've been fine. 1 lucy00us reacted to this
