Are you getting enough Protein and Water in. both dehydration and low protein levels can cause vision issues. Good Luck.

Are you taking or have you been given anti nausea meds in the hospital?

This is a common side affect..

This is a common side affect..

Some people are given a patch, also to wear.

I had the exact same problem. They told me it was a side affect of the pain medication and anesthesia. It went away on day 4.

Yes they gave me tons of nause stuff plus the patch. No I have not enough Protein I'm on a clear liquid diet

Are you still taking them or wearing the patch?

The patch is notorious for vision problems (temporary)

If you are still on the meds or patch I would put a call into your doc. And let them know because it could become a problem.

I had the same problem. I was worried because years ago I had Lasix surgery and thought that the pressure from the anesthesia and everything messed me up! It gradually got better.

Hi Ashlee - I had this same patch for sea sickness and after wearing it for two days I couldn't even read a menu. I will have to wear it again just before surgery. If you check the label I bet there's a side effect warning on it. I know where you're coming from, I was a little scared before I realized what was causing it...after not wearing it for about 24 hours everything was back to normal. Good Luck!!!

Hi Ashlee-

My eyes were blurry & felt gritty for a little over 2wks....Dr. said it was from anesthesia & pain meds!

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
