laurasjourney 24 Posted July 19, 2013 Is it just me, or did anyone else have a hard time sticking to the pre-op diet? I'm supposed to have 2 Protein Shakes and one salad with a portion of veggies and grilled chicken plus 2 pieces of fruit a day. I can't do it! I'm trying, and I've lost 5 lbs but I'm supposed to lose 10! I fall off the wagon all the time. I'm embarrassed that I can't stick to the diet as strictly as I should. I've gone through all my testing and everything is good to go. My surgery is a week from today! Am I the only one who's having a hard time?

I am scheduled for July 29th. The purpose of the diet is to ahrink your liver and prepare mentally as well as physically for the post-op diet. Everytime you get a desire to eat something wrong, think of the complications it may cause in your surgey. I know it seems a little drastic, but it is just what keeps me on this wagon. 1 Arts137 reacted to this
Richie80 0 Posted July 19, 2013 I was told 3 shakes a day and veggies for dinner. I ended up eating tons of cauliflower with hot sauce........... I did fine, but man did it suck being hungry all the time.....
EddiesAngel 14 Posted July 19, 2013 The closest thing that I'm getting to a chewable food is sf Popsicles and I know how feels to be hungry, but I just keep talking to myself and telling myself that this feeling won't last forever. I heard that a lot of times when we think that we r hungry that we r really thirsty so maybe drinking more fluids will help u to feel full, It might sound silly but it works for me. notime 340 Posted July 19, 2013 It can seem difficult, but remind yourself this period is nothing compared to the rest of your life. It is only a blip on your timeline. You can do this! You can do anything for only a blip.
