DorothyGale 8 Posted July 19, 2013 Post op Day 2 and I feel like I'm constantly working on getting liquids in. Some go down okay, but slowly. Others, particularly the Protein ones, feel terrible in my stomach and make me nauseous. I am also so tired but am afraid to sleep for any period of time since I don't get any liquids in while asleep! Lots of gurgling, etc. in the stomach. Thankfully, pain is minimal. Does anyone have any advice/reassurance? I am trying to follow the plan to the letter but my new little tummy doesn't quite want to get with the program! Oh, and I'm walking 10-15 mins of every hour, so I feel good about that. I hope the other 7/17 folks are doing well!
buffalogal 52 Posted July 19, 2013 Keep doing your best to get it all in, it gets easier and easier. It's great you are walking, keep it going. Be patient with yourself, and give it a few weeks, you'll get in the groove and be amazed at all the wonderful changes you will go through. Congrats!

Oh, and I'm walking 10-15 mins of every hour, so I feel good about that. I hope the other 7/17 folks are doing well! You sound like you are doing exactly what you should. Main focus on staying hydrated, and yes, for the first week or so it is a full time job, or at least feels like it is. Have you tried Unjury chicken Soup? Protein packed and very tasty. Warm liquids of any kind went down easier for me initially so the soup was a god send. I also heated the milk with my chocolate Protein Powder and drank it like hot cocoa the first week or so. The noises calmed more and more every day after my surgery, if you get more sore, try a heating pad. But you really sound as if you are doing great. Congratulations and best of luck!
