Pictures of last 2 dinners

Recommended Posts

A few weeks ago right after surgery, I wondered what a meal would look like when the time came. Well, here are some photos of my last 2 dinners for curious pre-oppers! My husband made me:

Teeny chicken Taco

1.5 oz of moist dark meat chicken

Small circle cut out of a whole wheat tortilla (about 1/4 of whole)

Thin slices of avocado (maybe an 1/8th of a small one)

A few cubes of Roma Tomato

A little splash of green salsa

Sausage w/ Peppers and Onions

1.3 oz organic chicken apple sausage

.5 oz sautéed onions

.5 oz sautéed peppers

Pretty nice eating real food! Put it on a small saucer, pair it with a small salad fork, and ta-da! dinner is served!

What's everyone else having for dinner?

Tonight I had a meatball with sauce and melted mozzarella! Yummmm

How is a tortilla sitting for you? I'm not allowed any kind of break product till like 8months to a year according to my dietician.

What a cute teeny taco! I use tiny ramekins the size of my cat's food bowls for teeny lentil Soup & chili (doctored with said sliced avocado, shredded cheddar and a teeny dollop of plain FF Greek yogurt). So how does your tummy do with the teeny tortilla? I still can't keep any kind of bread down. Not even a teeny bite.

JessicaAnn, this was the first time I tried tortilla, but no problems. The only other bread items I've tried were a couple of Water crackers, and 2 Triscuits. No problems with any of these, but I am trying to limit this kind of stuff to 2-3 times a week. :)

Yazzy, actually, 22 lbs of that was pre-op, so 24 lbs. down in the 6 weeks since surgery. Which is pretty great! But 46 lbs. in 6 weeks would've been spectacular!!! Haha

So nice to see someone is eating real food. So, you are 6 wks Post-Op - I am 2 wks tomorrow and I can barely get 2 tbsp of pureed food down right now. But, I do get hungy in a couple of hours. So, I am thinking lots of little tiny meals. Thanks for the pics.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
