Can we talk bras

Recommended Posts

Oh my gosh, you girls are making me so jealous I went from very perky DDD to old lady boobs that are now a B! Seriously I'm only 28 and I think after I'm past my year mark a boob job may be in the near future! However from back in my bigger days I loved Lane Bryant bras and the sales ladies whe always super nice and measured me perfectly!

I have been a huge Soma fan for many years. As I go down through the sizes I've been taking my old bras with me and donating them. They take your old bras and then donate them to women in shelters. This is working very good karma wise for me as I seem to need new bras every 2 months or so so far. I buy one in light nude and one in black each time I go down a size. I've gone from a 44DD to a 38D already.

Will Soma take bras for donation that are not theirs?

Soma takes all used bras, and size, any brand, just so long as they are in good shape! They often advertise the drives, but they actually take them year round!

Thank you 920amy! I have probably half a dozen or so that are in great shape. I will take them in.

I know this thread is a little stale but you gals have me so worried about what will happen to my boobs.

Makes me rethink getting the surgery. :(

What is worse....saggy boobs or morbid obesity? I will take my saggy slinkies any day of the week! Yes, it's a bummer that I need a size "long" in bra now but with a bra and clothes on, if I say so myself, I look pretty cute and I feel great!

So don't let a down side stop you from what could be a huge upgrade in your quality of health and quality of living!

Dillard's is having a big bra sale this weekend--went and got a few yesterday to get me thru the next couple of months. The ones I had bought in May were two sizes too big.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
