devine.adon 49 Posted July 18, 2013 Ok I'm only a couple days out but I'm concerned bc every Protein I've tried so far is causing me to vomit as soon as I swallow it.. I can drink my broth, Water and etc but the protein is just not going down. I've tried Isopure, powders? utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury, and a protein bullet from Walgreens.com.. Please let me know if there's anything else.. I am on clear liquid only. Thank you
vicster247 8 Posted July 18, 2013 I had a hard time with the clear Protein Drinks like special K Protein Water mix, Isopure it would coat my tongue and burn my throat and almost made me vomit so I called the drs. office and they told me to stop drinking it since I would be able to have skim milk and stuff in a few days. They didn't want me vomiting. So you might want to call them about it. I do know that reading on here all doctors are different but I can't imagine throwing up is good for the stomach or the incisions. Good luck. Things do get easier and I am only 3 weeks out. devine.adon 49 Posted July 18, 2013 Actually skim milk is in my list for this week, 4 oz portions but I was scared to try it but I guess I'll give it a try in the morning. Thanks so much!
Lori228 60 Posted July 18, 2013 I had originally used an old copy of the post sleeve diet and the first week there was no Protein and did not notice it until I was at home a few days. The doctor and nurse told me not to worry, it was far more important to get your fluids at that time. Take it easy, go slow and hopefully it won't be so bad after a few days and you can start taking it in better.
gettingbetter 1 Posted July 18, 2013 It can be hard in the beginning. One of the easiest Protein Drinks I found (and I actually liked it) was Syntrax's nectar. They have 15 different flavors and most of them are fruity. They still have the chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, etc. but they have a lot of flavors that mimic Crystal Light. I actually bought a sample pack from mybariatricpantry.com and got to choose the flavors I wanted. They had a ton of samples that you could buy of different product lines. I also tried Syntrax's Matrix sample pack and loved those too. The mint cookie was my favorite. A great site for samples and foods that's for sure especially if you don't know what you like or haven't tried a lot of different things. Hope this helps and remember...it will get better!! 1 devine.adon reacted to this
