Had my sleeve at MI in May. My hubby slept uncomfortably for 2 nights on a recliner chair. I may have "assumed" he would have a bed, but he didn't. The beds are the Marriott were wonderful. I didn't pay an extra $200 for anything.

I was sleeved at MI Doctor on June 17th. My room had 2 beds and my husband slept in the other bed for 2 nights. Spent 2 nights at the Marriott (1 pre-op and 2 post-op). It was included in my package.

Hey Everyone, When I talked to Cindy, my coordinator with MBC she said they would find a place for my husband but if he wanted to stay at the Marriott he could for an add'l $100. per night. We can't really afford the add'l cost & was curious if Mi Doctor would accommodate him with a bed in the same room or a pullout of some sort or like previously mentioned -a reclining chair? Looking 4 other peoples experiences. Thanks 4 the responses so far everyone. Karen

Same as mrspetethecat. There was an extra bed in my room at mi doctor. I didn't have a guest though. The hotel would have included a guest for no cost. I used alighterme.

When I was walking the halls of mi doctor, I looked in to every room on the floor. All but one had an extra bed. The one without an extra bed had a reclining chair. the one with the recliner actually looked awesome, it was a bigger room and the chair was all leather and Cush looking.

That must've been my room but he wasn't comfortable in that chair :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
