1ST Month? How much did u lose?

Recommended Posts

I started at around 210-213 and am 5'6", 38 years old and female. I lost 20 pounds in a month and then hit a stall. Just working toward my goal though and not worrying too much about the short term.

I lost 35 pounds my first month, 40 if you count the weight I lost on my pre-op diet. But I think it depends on your starting weight too. It seems that the heavier you are, the faster it comes off at first. I am 39, my highest weight was 366. I lost 6 pounds prior to my pre-op, then 15 on the pre-op diet, and 35 in the month after surgery. I think as long as the direction keeps going down, it doesn't matter how fast. I expect that the first month we will lose the most, then it will began to slow after that. After not losing weight for over 10 years, any movement in the right direction is fine with me!

I'm 6'1, I started at 356 and lost 25 in the first month, 14 weeks out and I've lost 67 so far, so yeah, it's definitely possible. I think it all depends on your former life style, body and metabolism.

Hope for you the best and all the greatest success :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
