mommy794 119 Posted July 16, 2013 Surgery was feb 2012. Still 15-20 away from my "goal" weight. I had been stuck at the same weight give or take a pound or two for 7 MONTHS. Now the past 6 weeks I have been feeling hungrier and have gained about 5 give or take a pound. I really want to at least get to my goal even if I gain 5 after that just to say I GOT THERE. Not feeling motivated or exercising doesn't help. I just need to buckle down again and DO IT! Blah.
ashleyxx 277 Posted July 16, 2013 I'm in the same boat as you. I was sleeved Nov 2011 and haven't got to my goal yet, some days I feel so hungry as well. I've also been stuck around the same weight for months, it seems I just lose and gain the same 5 pounds, so annoying! Sent from my iPhone using VST
feedyoureye 3,087 Posted July 16, 2013 If you are over a year, have not hit goal yet or are in maintenance, but gaining... check out the 5:2 group. Read through, and try the plan, if you like it after a couple of weeks, ask to join, and we will admit you, Its a good group of Vets some as far as 4 years out in this boat. Great support and a good plan that seems to work. The group is not open to those under a year... follow your surgeons plan if that is the case. http://www.verticals...ing-the-52-way/ 2 ashleyxx and mommy794 reacted to this
mommy794 119 Posted July 16, 2013 I will have to check out the group. Thanks! I mean of course. I'm WAY better off than I was at 215 being only 5 foot. But I'd still like to get to goal. I feel SO much better now though. 1 NtvTxn reacted to this

hadouni 301 Posted July 18, 2013 I'm right there with you! I was stuck at 178-180 then I started to exercise a bit more regularly and got down as low as 173. I've slipped up on the exercise and I'm back to 178-180... ugh! I'm trying to get back into the exercise again but my sweet tooth is giving me a heck of a ride and my periods are coming quicker so I get an extra "hungry" window a year... thanks age! mommy794 119 Posted July 18, 2013 Ya it sucks! I have the hormonal sweet tooth also and just found out a few weeks ago that I will be a grandma. So I think I'm gaining my 22 yr olds pregnancy pounds instead of her lol. 1 NtvTxn reacted to this

Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted July 20, 2013 I know if I eat any carbs besides the carbs in veggies, I am hungry all the time. 1 mommy794 reacted to this
M2G 1,836 Posted July 20, 2013 Ya it sucks! I have the hormonal sweet tooth also and just found out a few weeks ago that I will be a grandma. So I think I'm gaining my 22 yr olds pregnancy pounds instead of her lol. Ok, YOU have a 22 year old and are about to be a grandma? I would have never GUESSED that from your profile pic. Wow! Sorry about the struggle, I think we've all been there. And yep the hunger does come back, but from what I can tell it is mostly fueled by the carb monster. When I avoid the crap that I *shouldn't* be eating, my hunger seems to disappear. Just my own personal experience... 1 mommy794 reacted to this
DougNichols 124 Posted July 20, 2013 It's not your fault, nor a carb monster. Processed foods have been genetically engineered to be the most addictive possible, so you'll eat more of their product. Many good books detailing what they've done. Gotta get off the crazy food train. 2 mommy794 and Gojogo reacted to this
mommy794 119 Posted July 20, 2013 Yep I'm 43 lol. And YES carbs and sweets are my downfall right now. Plus I haven't been drinking enough Water. Doug I know that there is way too much artificial crap in our foods and products period. My youngest daughter has seizures from formaldehyde exposure. So I've learned more about chemicals in the past 3 years than I ever cared to know!!! I will have to check into that aspect more. After my vacation next week I hope to find my motivation. Thanks y'all!
