I was sleeved on May 15. I've lost about 29 lbs. It's very discouraging to do what you're supposed to and put on half a pound. I don't understand why the weight isn't coming off faster like some stories I've read. Maybe I should have gone with the bypass but I was afraid of the malabsorption.

Everyone looses at a different pace. Maybe the half of a pound weight gain is Fluid. Don't give up. I have not been sleeved yet, but I have done a lot of research about this type of surgery. Keep up the good work, it will pay off.

I had a couple of stalls in my first couple of months out. I got frustrated and discouraged and was to the point that I wanted to throw my hands up and eat a donut. BUT I didn't. Some weeks I lose more than others, I've even had a week where I gained, but it has been almost two months (6 weeks anyway) since I've had a week where I didn't at least lose SOMETHING. Keep the work up, the weight will come off. Everyone loses at a different pace, and you may end up and be a slow loser. Remember that the 29 pounds that you lost are gone forever, never to return. Keep your head up, as hard as it may be, and keep chugging along. Change things up a bit to see if that will help. Decrease your carbs, increase Protein or vice versa, increase your Water and exercise. Try to change things up and see if it will help. Good luck and keep pressing on!

I hit a stall and trust me it does not last! Maybe you should reevaluate what you are doing in the gym/ or what you're doing as far as exercising. Sometimes when you start weight training your body loses inches and remember muscle weighs more than fat! Be encouraged!!!!

Hang in there, I was sleeved Jan 28 and down 50 pounds I want it to be more but hey that's the way my body is and I have to say that I rather lose slow instead of never losing. Stay strong believe in you workout, eat your Protein and make good choices.

I was sleeved two days after you on May 17th. I'm down 31lbs. I'm on the same path as you and pretty darn happy with the results! I've averaged 4 lbs a week! And that's pretty darn awesome in my book!

I agree with changing things up! I notice that my scale doesn't move as often when I don't get over 80oz of fluids a day. That's a hard target for me, but am working on it! Also mixing up workouts is good too.

If you keep to your plan, its going to work and you'll get there!

I was sleeved on June 5th. I am down 22 pounds since my surgery day. I feel the same way as you, I think most do. I can tell when I have not gotten in enough Protein and fluids. My body holds onto everything.

I'm in the same boat this week :(. I was sleeved June 4th and have lost 25 pounds since then but this week the scale says I'm up a pound. How is that even possible, lol?? A little depressed about it, but I'll keep soldiering on and hope next weigh in is better. I've lost 106 lbs since I started this whole journey back in October, 76 pre-surgery. I think I need to just focus on that and not let these small setbacks send me into a tailspin. Easier said than done, but I'm trying!

Holy cow! 106 lbs is amazing! Feel proud of yourself! I hit a stall about 2 weeks after surgery. I've put on half a pound here and there but it does come off. I know I need more exercise and apparently I need more Water cause now I'm dealing with Constipation. Fun.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
