Sounds like you are doing everything right! They only thing I see is that you began at a relatively low starting weight. Maybe that is why you aren't having the major weight drops that people with a higher start weight may have. I'm 4'11"' date=' started at 211 and am down 15lbs to 196. I also have an underactive thyroid, so I think that plays a part in my slower loss as well. Are you possibly on any medications that may inhibit the weight loss a little? It's hard sometimes, but I'm trying really hard not to compare myself so much to other peoples success. It is very discouraging. I'm trying to look at it from the point of view that I am losing at a bit slower, possibly healthier rate. It isn't easy all the time, but it is still early in the game and there is a lot of time left on the clock! WE can do it!![/quote']

Thank you.. I really need this advice right now. I not taking my allergy meds that often anymore.. Just when its very bad ...in the past I have gained 20 pound with prednisone 20 mg beware is the worse meditation ever ( drank for over 2 years)

I am 3 weeks post-op today and am down 14 pounds from surgery and 37 from my highest. I think i am a slow loser too.

With that said' date=' I have seen the most change since surgery in my body shape. I now have ankles! Measure yourself and you will see some changes! Don t get discouraged, as everybody says, get your Protein in and drink your Water.

Good luck![/quote']

Funny you mentioned ankles....that was the first Change that I noticed too...I now have skinny ankles (which I have not had in years!), skinny wrists and I can see my collar bones....I know my butt is littler too...and my measurements say I have lost 2-3 inches in various spots all over my body but the ones I listed are the only ones I really see so far, lol.....btw, I am 3 weeks out, down 18# from surgery date.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
