Did you try putting a Gas-X strip on your tongue? I had the rumbling in my stomach but not in my intestines. I used Gas-X and it took are of it instantly.

I have tried everything. The nurses in the hospital were even trying to literally burp me like a baby and still nothing! I have a lot of rumbling but nothing will come out!

Where do you get the strips? I've looked everywhere and can't find them.

They are at Walmart pharmacy and even at Dollar General. I think most any pharmacy. They blend in with the capsule type on the shelf. You really need to read the fronts of the boxes. I remember looking right at them for 5 minutes before i spotted them. Your best bet is to ask a pharmacy employee. They will know where they are.

I have some pain on the left side that everyone spoke about here. No pain anywhere else though. In the hospital i had a tiny bit of nausea but a shot of something in my IV stopped it. I would definitely do it again. Now to loose the 7 lbs of Water weight the IV put on me.

I'm struggling to get Protein in. The idea of a shake does make me feel queazy. For right now i am mixing Isopure Protein Water with SF tang. I broke down and ordered the crystal protein and i'll use that when it arrives. Still no hunger and no temptation when the family eats.

im not even gonna attempt Isopure. actually i already did. and i immediately was like "wtf is this?!" lol smh. what does the left side pain feel like? and what is crystal protein?? btw. i'm glad you are doing well!

First the side pain might have something to do with my Drs method, i don't know. During surgery he stitches something (i think the sleeve) and then attaches the stitch to a muscle in the far left side. It is a deep burning ache. Its pulled tight enough that there is a 2 inch deep indentation. That stitch is like a tack stitch to hold things in place and its dissolvable. It will take about 2-3 weeks. One day he says I will turn in bed or get up and i will feel it let go. There will be no pain after that. It only really hurts when I walk or try to navigate my body into a comfortable position. Once I'm settled it not bad.

The isopure i don't drink straight. I pure 1/4 of a bottle into a,cup then I add equal amount Water and flavoring. For the icy orange flavor i add sf Orange Crush powder.

Crystal Protein is fruit flavored. You can blend it into drinks or soft stage food.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
