Mocha2871 182 Posted July 15, 2013 Hello my name is Kim and 41 years old, married and a mother to 6 young adults and grown adults(blended family). I have been on a few weight loss programs and self started programs, there has been so good results in it but it would come back faster than I lost it. I have been thinking about surgery for a few years but was afraid of going under the knife to have weight loss. In the past year I have been investigating weight loss surgery and what really happens when its done and real results good or bad. I was ready to do it but did not know how to get started but then someone close to me had just completed the process and was able to help me get started and now I am just waiting to get the approval from my insurance and from there I think I am just waiting on a date. I am looking forward to having one day where I can stand at my sink and wash dishes and my back not hurt. I want on day where my knees don't hurt walking up and down stairs. The arthritis in my knees go away and come back much later in life. I want to be able to wear a high heel, wedge heel, any kind of heel and it does not hurt before I can get out the door of my house. I just want to be happy with what I see in the mirror and know health wise I have put myself in a better position. I have chosen not to tell anyone but my own 2 children and my husband about this because I am not ready to here the judgement of people who feel like I am taking the easy way out or I am just lazy and don't want to do the work. But what I know is that this is the easy part the work really starts the day I leave the hospital and I can't wait to take on this new challenge and enter into my new life. 4 KitKat40, kw2walker, Mrs.RRn and 1 other reacted to this

Mine was six month I had to see a Nutrionist , I had to have a psy eval , blood work , stress test , EKG , ECHO , physical , PFT's , sleep study , i had a preop class , every insurance company is different & every surgeon is different ,... Mocha2871 182 Posted July 22, 2013 Well hello family, I am very excited today called bcbs il and I have been approved for my surgery. I now have to wait for them to fax the information over to University of Chicago hospital and get the rest if the process rolling. Now I have butterflies knowing that the wait is almost over. I guess I should start getting myself ready, I am hoping that we can get this done by the end of August. Just so happy now that this part is over. Will keep updating. 1 KitKat40 reacted to this
