Protein Shots? Has anyone tried them? Well I brought some from Amazon. They are 26grams in 2.9oz. The taste is not too bad. It has no carbs, no sugars, no fat and 120 calories. Since I brought them im able to get all my Protein in daily. Tomorrow I start pureed foods, which gives me a different variety to get protein in that way. Hope all is well sleevers and enjoy the rest of the day!

I tried one from Walmart. It's not all whey protein, but still enough to be good. My Dietician looked at it for me. She said it looked good, but there were two kinds of protein. She said to ensure it has the best form of protein, whey.< /p>

I did see those also, I'm going to try them this weekend. Thanks for that info. I did look at mine and it contains whey.

I tried some from Walmart too. My favorite is the watermelon flavor.

I liked them before the surgery and cannot force myself to drink them now. They have turned on me and I get instant diarrhea that will last for a good two hours. All my Fluid intake heads right out the back door! Leaving me in a negative. I'm not even sure the Protein stayed in my system of if it hightailed too.

Oh I'm glad you posted this! I haven't tried them post Op. My tummy is so sensitive. Plus I'm not a fan of vomiting. I feel like I'm the only one on here that isn't jumping for joy. My tummy still aches after 10 days. My doc says it's the nerves, but I'm so sick of taking the medicine they gave me. It puts me into a deep slumber. Although I do like that, but I feel like my life is slipping away.

I was nauseous until I hit three weeks out from surgery. Keep taking your meds, and all of a sudden you will feel better one day.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
