I'm up tomorrow morning! As soon as I can' date=' I'll share what I experienced. Here we go![/quote']

Good Luck.

I'll try to do the same. Can't guarantee it, most everyone says they don't feel like getting on the net. Can't say I blame them.

I'm worried about being able to get my liquids and Protein in also. My job is only allowing me to be off the Wednesday of my surgery and expects me to be back on Monday. I've done it before' date=' but it was just a lap gallbladder...not something major like having the biggest part of my stomach cut out! They just don't understand!! I might just have to take the risk and call in sick for a few days to allow myself to get used to things![/quote']

What type of work do you do?

I'm sept 25. I'm very nervous. Ansthesia...just thought of being put to sleep makes me nervous! But I'm so ready for this surgery:) mix emotions I guess.

Hello Aleembran, I have been put to sleep a few times and had no trouble with it. When you wake up you can't hardly believe the surgery has already taken place. Praying you have peace and no issues during or after surgery.

I agree you might have to call in sick. Wishing you the best.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
