I find that when moving around it makes me want Water more.I'm almost 3weeks out doing good.Just don't like Protein Shakes unless they're really cold.

I'm the same way. They always have to have ice. :-)

I'm so happy I'm losing again after a week stall. I stayed positive and I felt my clothes getting loser. Wish my bra wasn't getting loser. Lol. Hang in there for those of you who are in a stall.

Was wondering if any other Sept Sleevers are close to 6 weeks out and having a problem getting food down... I'm living on Water w/ crystal light or ProtiDiet concentrated Protein drink and Protein Shakes. It really sucks that I'm having a problem and I'm getting a little depressed :(

I got overconfident at 6 weeks (9/3 Op) and "tried" some baked/fried/cubed potato with less than desirable results - besides the hick-ups and queazy overfilled sensation - the potatoes felt like they were made of lead and took hours to digest. I retreated to puree for a couple of days and then slowly brought back chopped foods.

Perhaps you are making the same mistake and need to be more conservative. Give your pouch a 2-day liquid vacation and then shift to puree for 1-2 weeks. Better yet, check with your nutritionist and Dr. and be patient with expanding your menu. Since the lead-potato episode, it has been smooth sailing - each of us relearns what works and doesn't work when it comes to tolerating food types.

Good Luck and don't get discouraged!

Thanks Bayshore :) that's what I'm going to do because the solid food thing isn't working out so I'm thinking holding off another 2 weeks and then trying again.

I have done really well and it saddens me that there are some who haven't. I am 5 weeks out and eating regular foods. I still include Protein in my coffee ( making it a latte) and I work hard to get the Water in. I have never vomited but get nauseated after taking my Vitamin.

I have lost 23 lbs, 22% body fat and gained a totally different attitude! My boss tells me I'm 'glowing' and I have to agree-I have been blessed!

When I saw my surgeon for my post-op visit he told me I needed to start working on a total body workout. I haven't decided in a gym but plan on using a free trial period to start it off.

Hi all. I'm about 7 weeks out and have lost 24.2 lbs 38 in total. In the last 4 weeks it has only been about 4lbs. Is anyone else having this problem? Can I be doing something wrong?

Well, what exactly ARE you doing? Are you walking? Eating carbs? Having enough Protein?

I'm pretty much stalling too, but I'm not walking much so I feel guilty to try and blame the surgery for that, even though a lot of people keep losing even without walking.

I'm just gonna pass on the same advice I've been given: keep doing the diet, following the plan, get enough protein in, walk, and the weight will eventually start shedding again!

I am 5 weeks post op and have only lost 16 lbs since but lost 33lbs total since pre-op (7weeks). I was getting frustrated also but then I had to stop and really think about it. I lost 33lbs in 7 weeks, that's alittle more than 4 1/2 pounds a week, that I would of never lost on mine own. We all lose differently, some slower than others. I am at prace now with one, one pound at a time. Slow and steady wins the race.

I'm at 5 weeks and solids are hit-or-miss but always disturbing. I have been in real pain with some, and also the food tends to shoot back up into my throat (not my mouth, but close). I went to the doctor for this because I was really worried that this was how my life was going to be...awful! He said that this problem wasn't usual, but it is fairly common, and that it typically resolves by 3 months out or sooner. The longest he's seen is 9 months.

What I've found is that I need to take really, really small bites and go very slowly. I really hope that is not a lifelong thing - I know I can't wolf food down like I used to, but I would hope a small but "normal" bite would eventually work. The really tiny bites that get chewed to mush end up not tasting very good anyway.

One food I did find that works - shredded ham (or honey ham) from the store deli - I ask for the meat "shredded" which makes it very flaky and pretty easy to eat. I'd rather get Protein from food rather than shakes, so I feel good about that. I'm sure turkey or maybe even roast beef would work as well, and at least there's some flavor and it tastes good even after being chewed to death!

I am working out with a trainer 3 days a week for the last 4weeks. I also got a fit bit and am trying to make sure I hit 10,000 steps a day. I am eating pretty much only protein aka chicken, eggs, Protein Powder in sugar free pudding for some reason it's the only way I can get it in. Black bean Soup. Refried Beans. I don't know where I am going wrong.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
