Ok...so I ended up in the hospital dehydrated over the weekend. Its not that I'm not getting enough liquids because I was drinking plenty. The problem was that everything I would eat or drink would go straight through me. For almost two weeks I've been dealing with this. I think I started with a small virus and I just never got rid of the diahrea. Has anyone else experienced this?? I'm drained. Cant take much more.

Might want to see a doctor for some labs you might have some intestinal bug that could easily be treated with antibiotics

Ok so I had this in the begenning too and ended up getting IV fluids 5 times. If you end up with burning diarrhea or intestinal pain, go to your doc and get a fecal sample done...I ended up with C-dif. and didn't know it and because I had it so long, the antibiotic was like $900 =/. He also told me to take a bulk forming Fiber supplement until the runs would stop.

Hope it get's better for you! =]

I did get a script for antibiotics. Haven't started them yet. They did do labs and nothing showed up. The dr on call said it sounded like maybe an infected colon from having it too long. They didn't do a stool sample I guess since I never went to the restroom. I'm hoping this gets fixed soon. I can't eat much and I try to just drink all day.

I went to the ER because I almost passed out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
