I know what you mean. Although I get enough Protein my sugar gets low. I am diabetic and I've realizes that along with Protein I also need some carbs. I had a spell yesterday which does feel horrible and found that my sugar was low so I ate a few carbs and felt tons better. I focus on protein but I also have to have some carbs for my blood sugar. Also I've been dehydrated before and that was miserable....tired and weak but not as shaky as with low bloods. Good luck!

Trust and believe you will change your mind about your surgery and will love your results. The best way to get Protein is a Protein Shake. I use Myofusion from West Coast Nutrition 39 gram+ protein, 9 carbs, 3 sugars. I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk (30 calories). You can have this three times a day along with your meals. I don't know what stage you are in...if you can have solid foods or not. If not, then use the protein shake more often. Don't forget to get your Water intake! With an increase in protein you want to keep your kidneys flushed so you don't get stones. I believe you will feel much better very soon. I promise you...you'll love your results. Just patience grass hopper!

Sincerely,

Jen

I am sorry you are having these issues ladies. Milk has been my savior, as both a liquid and a Protein. I hope things get better for you.

This sounds like dehydration. Getting in your fluids will help you feel much better. It this continues please call your Dr. It could be something serious. I hope you feel better. Remember it gets easier. Hang in there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
