getlownurse 105 Posted July 15, 2013 My baby is 9 months yesterday, and I was sleeved 3 weeks ago. I've had no problems taking care of him. The first few days I had my husband doing most of the lifting and holding, but I did some. I could have done it all, had I needed to. Good luck!
Purplrose323 32 Posted July 15, 2013 I was told by my surgeon nothing over 10lbs for a month, including my 17 month old.

TexasRed1978 17 Posted July 15, 2013 I was sleeved on 6/25. My baby is 15 months old and 21 pounds. My surgeon said that I should not be in charge of him on my own for at least 1 week post op, but after that I could take care of him myself and just to try and limit lifting him. I had my gall bladder out in November, and I had a hard time lifting him for about 2 weeks post op then when he was 16 pounds, so I knew I should have help longer than my surgeon recommended. I've had varying levels of help since surgery and I am very thankful because the 2 times I have picked him up post op it's been pretty painful. You may be just fine, but you might want to try and arrange for more help just in case.
