So I have had a textbook surgery and recovery but yesterday I was getting a pain in my right side and it is still there today. I don't have a gallbladder so it's not that and to high up for appendicitis. It feels like it is in my midsection along the right side by my ribs. So...................has anyone ever had this type pain? It feels kind of like a muscle pain but I haven't done anything to myself.

I remember having pains on both sides that never got to bad. However, Seek a professional opinion. Your physician will have definitive answers with a treatment plan. Good luck

I am a little over 3 weeks out and I just started having a pain in my right side today. My pain is about level with my belly button. It hurts when I move. Not terrible, but enough to make me worry. I have been wondering if I am getting a hernia. Hopefully this is normal?!?!

That is my same pain and it is level to my belly button.. I think it might be a pulled muscle but definitely not a hernia. I will call my doctor tomorrow just to double check it. I don't think it is anything but I was hoping someone on here had this and knew what it was. Feel better! :)

I have had the same pain, I am almost 3 weeks out. Called my doctor and they said that it is the internal stitch that is dissolving and can cause discomfort. I think I overdid it today, bending and squatting while painting a room, because the pain is a little worse, but feels like a pulled muscle, sort of. If it gets worse, I will call the doctor, but they said almost everyone feels this pain when that one stitch inside begins to dissolve. Hope this was a little helpful!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
