How we got this way!

Recommended Posts

Many of us are overweight beacause of overeating whether its because of bordom, emotions, or just plain bad food choices. What have some of you done to change this after being sleeved? I have done so many diets and have always stopped and I'm just scared that I will start to lose once being sleeved and then gain it back. What are some tips to keeping the weight off and sticking to it! I plan on it being a lifetime change for myself and my family! Exercise and healthy eating are in my plans but there is always gonna be that fear of falling right back into my old habits. So tips please:)

You just can't eat when and what you used to - you physically can't. THAT'S what my sleeve is for. I focus now on getting my Protein every day (70g/day by my doctor's standards). When you focus on that, there isn't room for anything else. You can't grab a few french fries when you really need to eat some chicken breast. You can't help yourself to Lucky Charms because you have to eat eggs. For me, my choices are driven by my need for protein and Water - my day (and tummy!) is consumed with that, so there really is no room, physically, for anything else!

I don't think that fear will ever leave. But I think it can be managed and overshadowed by the feeling of health and wellness.

The sleeve provides a chance to hit the "reset" button in your life and provide you with the physical restriction you need to work on the emotional and spiritual new you.

Break down your journey minute-by-minute and always keep in mind, everything you do should be a conscientious decision. Learn to be okay with your decisions and open-minded enough to make adjustments and corrections.

Be as honest as you can be with yourself and set realistic expectations.

Most importantly, love yourself no matter what...period!

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
