Unfortunately, you have not been sleeved yet so you still have a normal stomach producing ghrelin so it's only natural that you're hungry. I have no real words of wisdom but I want to offer you my support.

Been on Optifast for two days and starving:(

I am on day 7/14 of Optifast. It does get better. When u are feeling hungry have a big guzzle of Water. It helps. As u progress (usually day 3 - 4) the hunger subsides. I'm actually quite amazed at how little hunger I feel now. In saying that, my head would kill for a steak!!! The tummy however is not concerned!

I found short burst of exercise helped alot. I pushed my knees on the treadmill and got sweating and voila i got a few hours respite from the hunger

We're almost there, Alie!! Just gotta make it through the rest of today. You have done an amazing job of dropping weight! I, on the other hand, have only managed to lose 8 lbs in two weeks. I know it will come off, and I'm in no rush, but kinda surprised that's all that two weeks of Optifast got me. Good luck and catch ya on the flip side!! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
