Elliejmiller 24 Posted July 13, 2013 So I have seen a few post where people say that it helped to have a pillow to cough into or to get out of bed, can people help explain this? How it works? Making a list for hospital
Bufflehead 6,358 Posted July 13, 2013 It helps support your tummy when you move your abdominal muscles or have strain on them. You just press it against your tummy when you have to get up or down or cough. Otherwise the tension on the incisions can be really painful. I used a regular hospital pillow, though, and it was fine for me.
nmck 68 Posted July 13, 2013 I asked my surgeon if I could use an abdominal binder, which is like an elastic girlde to support your midesction. I was ordered on after my 2nd c-section and it was great for that support! He said yes and wrote it down in his notes to order one for me. 1 Elliejmiller reacted to this

BethTN 15 Posted July 14, 2013 I used a regular pillow even just laying in bed at the hospital and sitting around at home for about a week... Just felt good to have a little pressure there.
