Red wine lover 0 Posted January 4, 2007 Here I am, waiting for insurance approval, but I can't get that until the Surgeon's office has all the paperwork. Did my Psych Eval Nov 27th and asked my PCP for a referral letter. Neither have been sent to the Surgeon's office yet! Calling them, they both said the same thing, it's been sent for transcription, so we'll fax soon. What the he** is soon? 2 months? 3? I wish some docs felt the same sense of urgency we do. End of rant, thanks for letting me vent... Bill
ReneBean 3 Posted January 4, 2007 Just like the insurance company - you have to harass the doctor's office, too. I had the same experience - it took weeks to get the stinking letter from my PCP - and then it was practically just a carbon copy of the letter I had written. I could have done better than she did... *sigh* It all takes time - and nobody gives a rat's ass until you actually have insurance or loan approval. THEN you will see the surgeon's office move... Keep fighting the good fight. Good Luck!

vinesqueen 2 Posted January 4, 2007 I don't know why they are so slow. This is one of those things that is so frustrating. Perhaps they are using this as a weeding out technique? If you are not willing to push for your band, are you going to be willing to push if something happens with your band, or willing to push yourself when it comes to shove? anonemouse 1 Posted January 4, 2007 My surgeon's office hasn't been slow, it's all the other doctors I have had to see to get all my info ready for insurance that have slowed everything down. That's the really frustrating part, to me. I am ready to have this surgery, but I have had to wait to get appointments with my other doctors so that they will write letters, wait for them to get the actual letters to the surgeon, get all my pre-approval clearances done, etc. It is basically hurry up and wait, I think. Really irritating, especially when you have a deadline to have this done.
