I am 10 days post op and was able to eat a 6 oz container of light yogurt this morning. Now granted it took me almost an hour but still I thought I was only going to be able to have 3 spoonfuls and be full. Happen to anyone else this soon?

Yogurt liquifies fast in the stomach. And it also leaves your stomach faster than dense Protein. If you are taking an hour to eat it then it's more like you are having 3 oz every 30 minutes, which is totally normal.

Don't worry...you will feel more restriction with solid protein...yogurt is *almost* a liquid...and your body starts digesting food the minute it goes in your mouth...so 6 oz over an hour doesn't sound super unusual to me

Hi all I was not able to eat yogurt until a month later? I guess everyone is different but I was told it should only take you 20 -30 minutes to eat one meal then you should walk away from it.. or wait until lunch.. that's what I was told good luck!

My doctor and dietician said no real restrictions with full liquid diet which yogurt is. They just said stop when you are full. Listen to your body. When I am on solids then yes less amounts. I am having a really hard time getting calories in and I don't want to go into starvation mode. So if I have to eat a 6oz container of yogurt to get 90 calories then that's what I should do. I just didn't know if it was ok. Apparently it is! Thanks!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
