Steady losers ;-)

I just had a convo with the billing specialist at the surgeon's office. I got a bill for over $500. WTF? I have insurance and no deductible, so they are straight tripping. She said my insurance company is rejecting claims for some reason, but I got them straightened out. They are going to rebill.

I also asked about the cost of fills. They are $125 apiece. WTF? So I had to ask her, she said for the first 3 months they are "free." (As in I've already paid) and then after that, they are billed to insurance. I am happy about that - insurance better not muck it up.

I have decided that I need to eat more food. I think I am going to stick with 800 - 1000 calories for 5 days and then do 2 days of more cals. With the exercise and the Water, I should lose rather swiftly, I think. I really want to dump 20 pounds per month for the next few months. By my birthday (July 14) I want to be under 200 lbs. That is 59 lbs away. I don't care if I'm 199.99999999.

I went to RL yesterday, and although I only ate 3 coconut shrimp and a few pieces of that yummy seasoned broccoli, I killed 2 of those little herby cheesy buttery biscuits. I was reaching for a 3rd when I had to tell myself "Fat bitch - pull back another biscuit and I'll kick your ass." I literally laughed out loud at the table.

oh - one of the guys on my team has a crush on me and has made it clear. HA! He's cute and all, but uhhhhh, I'm his manager. Unfortunately I need my job more than I need "a piece." But oh lord I could use some... (HA!)

StephC you made me laugh.

Carol, I'll pray for your friends. I love being able to call people by name in prayers. I hope that your friend's son heals.

SweetHot - I need you to send me some stuff from the EU.

KayDoll - come back to us soon.

bkw - how's your dad doing? How are YOU doing?

VaB - I hear ya on the restriction and the need to be filled. Aren't those LB comms great? I'm all "I have that!" (But only to myself)

claudia - what kind of party are you having? I want to have a Superbowl party, but 1) I don't know who to invite and 2) I wouldn't know what to serve.

OH! More drama with my sister and with daycare, but I've gabbed on enough.

Love you guys (really, I do)!

Nathalie

okiefam - Excellent. Did you have to drink the Water? I am totally nervous about tomorrow. I get my first fill then.

They didn't say anything about not eating or being on liquids before hand. Did you do any kind of self-imposed special eating?

StephC When is your fill again? Today, right? Or am I just mental?

Nat - Good for you in holding back the need for some action with work duties, but it can be really hard, especially when you get along with the person. I am trying the more calories for 2 days and then down to about 800-1000, and then I will weigh myself in about a week. I can't do the scale every day, it depresses me when it doesn't go down. My goal for the by b-day, 5/26, is 195, I'm hoping I can hit it.

(((Steadies)))

Good afternoon all. I have missed you guys so much since I have been away. Thanks to all who expressed their well wishes during this difficult week. I have not yet read the posts, but look forward to going back and hearing how great I bet you all are doing.

My FIL was buried yesterday and it was a very trying day, after a very difficult weekend but at the same time it was a beautiful tribute to the man he was..there were hundreds of people who showed their respect to the family and everyone spoke of how loved he was. And now we go on....

Despite it all, I lost my 2.6 pounds that for some readon I have lost each week on the past 3 weigh ins. I think it is funny that it is the same amount exactly each week. If that keeps up, I will be one hot mama by summer. hahahahaha Watch out and keep you husbands close! Just kidding girls. I swear I have eaten more this weekend and exercised less so I hope it stays off. I am back into my routine today though. Onward and downward!

I am off to read the thread...I will try to right more later.

Hugs to you all.

Hello my lovelies!

Had my fill today. I was allowed bk and then liquids since they slide on through anyway. So its all done under fluro with nothing to numb it. The only pain was the needle going in and it was an ouch moment. So I'm standing there with Dr Dreamy, Nate and 3 xray techs - they have me pull my shirt up and my man wipes the port area with whatever it is they use - and he's pushing around trying to feel the port, and he says push your belly out - I'm think wtf! and I let the air out since I'm holding my breath and tucking my tummy in (as if that helps!) and he says no suck in - and I pull my ole fat belly in as much as I can and he says no, I mean tighten your muscles - I start to giggle at this point. First of all its freeaking embarrassing to show the fat to a roomfull of strangers, 2nd - you know I'm crushing on him 3rd - do you honestly think I have muscles in my stomach! ROFL!!! Ok so you all know I'm an idiot so I'm going to reinforce that opinion - only to my daughters would I do this but I have a way of bending and rolling my stomach so it looks like a 6 pack - only its like a 6 pack of pillowy fluff! So dr dreamy is got this needle hanging in my belly and he's not really hit the port dead on and I'm giggling. Freaking JELLY BELLY! He says ok now stop the giggling. He found the port and had me take the drink of barium crapola. He put in until it closed completely and then took out and had me drink - we did this a few times until we ended with 2cc. So then he has me look at the xrays and I don't know if any of you looked at yours but if you get a chance take a look. That pouch is NOT very big. If we eat more then 1/2 a cup its up in the esphogus! It kinda scared me into being a good girl and making sure I can feel when I'm full. He also pointed out the wires in my bra - lol - gotta love him!

I'll talk more later - tata for now.

Oh I drank a cupacinno and had a little nausea - the fill must be holding the liquids pretty good too.

StephC - LOL @ giggling while Dr. Dreamy fondled your stuffins. I LOVE IT!

I see my cute lil PA tomorrow for my fill. I'm going to flirt all I wants. I also see the dietician and the exercise physiologist. Can't wait. 1/2 days of work always rock.

I also bought a new book today. We're having pizza for dinner tonight.

OH! Another score: I went to GNC to get the Zero Carb Protein mix. They had 25 of them on sale because they are set to expire w/in the next 2 months. WHA? I bought all 25 of them. $1.87. They're regularly $3.75!! Who rocks? Yeah, me. :clap2:

More later.

Forgot to tell you - I only lost 1 pound! I swear my scale sucks! According to my scale I had lost at least 4 pounds and somedays 5 - so i had myself psyched for at least 3! And he said one - I was like WHAT!?!? Then the other lady who had her surgery the same day as me and was also there for a fill today said she went up a pound this time. She had lost 26, she was pretty disgusted too. I just had some Tomato Soup for supper and poured about a cup and had to stop at about 1/2 of it. I should have measured but figured it would go on through - wrong. I stopped and put it down and then my nose started to run. So I think I was at my limit.

I can't drink the Protein mixes - I tried again tonight and blech! yuko. I wish I could find one that didn't gross me out. The only one thats ok is Boost and its full of calories.

Nat you need to jump that co-workers bones! You old horney thing! Flirt it up! Maybe the PA is single... hmmmm?

So Nat you think I should try that zero carb stuff? Do you just get one drink from each packet?

So I had my bid in on ebay for the x country skiis - some sucker kept uping the bid - so I stopped and started looking around again and found a set that are from a local dealer so I wouldn't have shipping but they didn't have the boots so I called my friend (member of the club type friend) and asked her if I need the boots cuz I know she's a big time ski-er - and she says let me check but I'm sure I have your size and how about I sell you the boots, skiis and poles all for $20 - !?! - sure! So hopefully I'll be on my way - over the rocks as hubster would think - losing weight. And while we were on the phone she even invited me to lunch. Go figure.

I am dumb. I got the pre-mixed drinks. They are usually $3.75 each. I got 'em for $1.87 each. And the cute lil guy with the big muscles, hard chest and tight Buns carried the big ole heavy bags to the car for me.

StephC there are some other types of Protein Drinks that aren't gritty and milky yuck. They are more fruit juicy than milky. nectar is one type, and the Isopure is another. Isopure comes pre-mixed (which is what I bought) but they also have powder types of the drinks. They're pretty good. The greatest thing about Isopure is that the Protein is teeny weeny little. It's light and mixes into Water really really easily, even if all you have is a cup and a spoon. It's not clumpy. Ever. I like it a lot. I don't know if you can buy sample packs or not - I'm sure someplace sells them but I don't know where.

I ate pizza for dinner, and I am really really really full. We just got a thin crust DiGiorno microwaveable pizza, but I ate 2/3 of it. My belly is so damn full. I ache. I don't know if I need to belch or not, but I feel horrid. I would drink hot water, but I don't want the crust to blow up in my stomach. I am a dummy. A greedy greedy dummy.

Steph - congrats on the pound! I think I've only lost a few myself. But girlfriend, it's better than gaining. So you be proud! You're doing great.

ChubbyGirl are you trying to get me fired? ARE YOU? *laugh* Because if I were to fool around with this guy (who reports to me, by the way) and the secret got out, I'd be in deep doo-doo. DEEP. Even though he is some kinda cute.

Ooooh American Idol is on!

Nat

You guys, I am sooooooooooo full. I literally ache. I feel like I want to throw up. :)

I promise I'll never do this again. I have been standing up with my arms over my head looking at the ceiling willing my belly to empty. And it's not.

Man - guys I am doing great on the work out part! I am not so sure how I am doing with food though. Protein is always my priority but I feel like I am eating too much. For dinner I made meatloaf (no breadcrumbs) and the mock mashed potatoes (califlower) it was yummy. Then I ate 2 sugar free fudgesickles before bed. I also had a sm grilled chicken breast and 5 french fries for lunch. For a snack I had a few pieces of crab with a tbs of cream cheese. I slepted in so I didnt eat Breakfast today. =) I am not sure about my calories but it seems like I ate too much. ??? What do you think? Monday can not come soon enough to get this fill!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
