I am scared I am not going to lose any more weight

Recommended Posts

So I am 6 weeks out today and so far have only lost 23 pounds and fir the past week I keep gaining and losing the same two pounds. I am worried that this is all I am going to lose. I go to the gym 5 days a week and walk 1-2 miles a day and I don't eat junk. I don't understand what I am doing wrong here. Sorry for the rant I needed to vent. I guess I just thought I would of lost more weight by now. Thanks for listening to my crying lol.

Dont worry youre just at a stall. It happends to a lot of people you can read about it all on here. Just keep doing what youre doing. Around your 3rd month you should start seeing huge differences. Im starting my 3rd week today and my second week i didnt lose a thing. My first i lost 10 lbs... i guess im at my stall... just have patience. Youll get to your goal eventually

If your doing everything you say, trust me it will come off. Every body is so different just be patient it will start melt off. plus you may be working out really hard and gaining muscle or storing Water where your fat cells used to be. Hang in there youll see results soon.

I am 8 weeks out and this same thing happened to me. I didn't lose any weight for weeks 6-8, but I got on the scale this morning and its down 5 pounds. Your body needs to adjust to all the rapid change that is happening and sometimes that causes the scale to not move. Keep doing what you're doing and I promise you will start losing again.

Aside from the likely stall, if you've been working out with significant intensity for 6 weeks, your body might need a taper week. Athletes will train hard for a number of weeks and then dial back to a rest week, where they do shorter, lighter intensity workouts to allow their body to do some rest and repair.

yes, I agree with Daydra, when i first started this journey aftet surgery i just walked twice a day for 1/2 hr. Didnt hit the gym untill i was out a couple months. Now at six months I'm back to just walking with weight because my arthritous is acting up in my knee, and the weight is still coming off:-)

You're 6 weeks out.

Relax.

I hit a 4 week stall early on as well.

Just wait until you hit 3 months. You'll be amazed!

I am 6 weeks out and this just happened to me! I thought I paid $3k to lose 26 lbs. I was pissed. I kept u with my diet and exercise. I didn't change a thing, then this morning I lost 1.4 lbs! I am hoping I am out of it. Just keep up the good work. It's fairly common at 6 weeks out. It will pass and u will continue to lose. Just hang in there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
