My subject says it all. I'm nervous and excited I have surgery scheduled in three weeks. I think the nervous part is the being put to sleep. Although I've had other surgery it's still nerve wrecking. Well I've managed to lose some weight on my own and I'm happy. Just last few days I feel sooooo hungry for no particular reason.

My starting weight was 224 I'm down to 201 now and ideal is to get to 135lbs since I'm 5'4 in height.

I have to admit I have had some who support me other not at all, or the few who state "you don't need that". But my health comes first.

Is there anyone in the bronx, New York area? Any key advice for pre and post surgery? I have two little one a 5 and 2 yr old will there be limitation I should beware of?

So I had my surgery on August 7th. I'm ok walking mild pain , unfortunately I'm feeling sooo tired of the just liquids and its only day 2 of liquid diet post op. I'm also noticing that at first I had horrible gases now it seems I have the runs. Lastly, I seem to be getting my cycle when I had it right before surgery. Please help feeling desperate!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
