So is it true that your hair will fall out regardless of what Vitamins you take?

Everybody is different, there is a chance you will lose a little a lot or none at all..most people see some loss between 3 to 9 months...the most you can do is get good Protein before and after, taking Biotin doesn't hurt.

That being said it will grow back and it would not be a reason for me not to get surgery

Pretty much. Sorry, but there are a lot of us who have religiously taken our Vitamins, gotten oour Proteins, Water and Biotin etc... And everything else and still lost our hairs. Not all of it.. Just a lot of strands at brush time. It's livable.

Yup, its pretty much inevitable. It happens no matter how religious we are about everything. I took all my supplments, my Proteins, etc. Lost tons of hair starting at month 3 but by the 6th month, I stop losing. I didnt go bald, I dont have to wear a hat and Im the only that notices. Im in my 7th month and it has not started growing back yet but its ok. Im down 84 pounds and trust me, Im a lot healthier at 158 with less hair then I ever was at 242 with tons of hair. No one ever said "oh look at how much hair she has, she must be so healthy".

It's true. Lots of us did everything right, and there was no preventing it. I'm almost 7 months out, it's still coming out a little, though much slower, and I can see it's coming back.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
