I had my surgery done June 27th. I will say the first week was very difficult not because of pain or anything else negative simply not being able to eat what I cooked for my family. I have lost 26lbs so far. I have experienced some dizzy spells but other than that it's been fine. No pain meds. Only thing I feel which I'm not sure is normal or not is I'm tender in the stomach area by touch. Very happy I had it done so I can continue to enjoy run and play with my kids!

Congratulations on your decision to change your life and that of your children :). I haven't had surgery yet, but anticipate I will the end of August or first two weeks of September of this year. I'm 5'3" and 205 lbs.

Your post was helpful to me. I am always relieved to hear that the surgery pain is tolerable during the first week. I can't imagine cooking during those first weeks though. The only positive is that you manage the menus and can slowly change the family's menu to mirror what you will eventually be eating (high Protein, low carb/fat).

Maybe if you always stay focused on six months out, it will help during those rough times? Prayers headed your way from Fort Worth, TX!
