Fast day yesterday and came in at 575 so not too bad. I was also able to exercise for the first time in over a week (back problems). Sat here quietly awaiting the personal trainer, it's nice to sit quietly during this busy period. Like Coops I finish work on Friday for the Christmas break and this week at work is usually bedlam, students excited, staff stressed and in there somewhere we try to remember the message of Christmas.

Having hubby home all the time (unemployed!) has it's pros and cons, it's lovely to have him here but as he has worked away in the week for at least 5 years he does not know my normal routine and we are still dancing around each other. He has done all the Christmas cards and the accompanying letter and they have been sent, and delivered, more timely than in the past. I'm going to have to find him more jobs to do. Unfortunately he is hopeless in the kitchen, the only thing he can find is the beer fridge! Maybe I should get him a cooking course for Christmas. He has no interest in cooking though as he says I can't understand spending all that time preparing when the meal might take only 30 mins to eat. I must admit though I quite like the kitchen being my area and I think if he wanted to muscle in I would be miffed.

Hoping to have a good clean eating day today.

PS scale is the same but I'm OK with that

post-152922-0-10143300-1387362178_thumb.jpgSarah - My team leader knows and one of my social scientists knows, but that's it. I don't want people treating me differently and I don't want to give anyone an excuse to get rid of me.

SherylJane - I'm in week 3 of Insanity and I take weekly photos and the only thing that has changed is my butt, from the insane amount of deep squats we do. So, if you would like a toned bubble butt, I recommend squats, a f*** ton of them ;)

Coops - Those gals sound like frenemies to me, the kind of people who are only mollified when they feel they are dominant and feel threatened by other's improvements ... Can't wait to see your sketches, I will try to post a painting of mine.

Does anyone know how to set up a PayPal account?

If my extension doesn't go through I only have about 7 weeks left before redeployment and homelessness/unemployment/no insurance. Holy shitballs.

the Insanity has been good for me mentally, but that effing scale hasn't budged an ounce in 3 weeks and my measurements haven't changed. Nothing has changed except my strength (mild improvement) and my butt shape.

Cathy - were you the one who's place flooded? How's that going?

Stay strong against the tide of Cookies everyone, I'm lucky to not be around that stuff but our Combat Stress got a ton of goodies in and among them were gingerbread M&Ms!! 3 of them found their way into my mouth .....

No I wasn't flooded thank goodness, that was Swizzly who I believe is in temporary accommodation while her house/flat is fixed, she must be under a lot of stress. No for me husbands company has gone into administration, so no job for him. Also we had an investment in the Co which was supposed to be our pension so that has gone. We have a mortgage on our house so if he does not get something in the New Year we will have to consider downsizing and buying something outright. I'm a bit concerned but not too worried at the moment, we have decided to have a normal Christmas and New Year and will consider our options then. It has been stressful so I'm happy to keep my weight constant at the moment.

Hi ladies. I tried to fast yesterday got side tracked by blueberry bagel. Cause of the high carbs I haven't had a bagel in forever. Rest of the day was clean still ended with 950. Gotta let go of the 200 cal Power Crunch bar. Used to eat them for the protien but honestly the calories is like a candy bar. It is comforting to know I am not an uncontrollable freak I see we are all in the same holiMONTH boat. Gonna stop punishing myself and try to maintain for now. Globe and Kim it just amazes me the artistic talent inside some people. Such talent! I hope it brings you as much joy to produce youw work as the joy we take in seeing your work. Jane I am really liking Fraiser good luck with your what are your intention discusssion. I hope u two want the same thing for now. I can't express my thoughts from my blackberry but what happens if he wants more than u want right now. Decent men are hard to find and so far he sounds like a good one. My daughter tried online dating never went on a date all corresponers either looked like MIs matches or sounded like serial killers. So good luck Jane. Hard to post from my blackberry. Have a great day everyone

LOL Wanda...mismatches and serial killers...thanks for just making me smile today.

Florinda, and Kim AND Coops all have an artsy side I LOVE IT! Great self-portrait GT. What medium did you use? Background reminds me of watercolor but the illustration looks pencil/pastel. Maybe I should try to share some of my work here...so much of what I did for a career was boring (technical illustration within the cable industry) but I have some of my paintings and textiles hanging around my house. Maybe I should consider picking up the paintbrush again?

SherylJane (I like that name for ya!) thanks for sharing the profiles...I agree Fraiser seems like the "it" man right now...keep us posted. And I hate to say it but I have to agree (even though I've never seen you in person) that your photos probably aren't doing you justice. Hum. I think more up-close ones and a few more that show your fab new body are in order.

Was going to fast yesterday, then realized I had to pick up my dad from the airport and we ended up all going out to dinner. I didn't track what I ate but here it is: coffee, hardboiled egg, cheese stick, 1/2 apple w/whipped PB, some homemade beef Jerky, 3oz salmon, couple of bites of pineapple, 2 broccoli spears, and about a handful of choc. covered almonds. Thank GOD the extra candy is now gone.

Good lord I am a board n00b - I tried to use the multi-quote option - as I wanted to quote from multiple fine posts and it failed to work - ah well. I will take notes next time.

I like SherylJane as well - sounds sassy! thanks for posting the links, your profile is awesome and it is fun looking at the menfolk - they look like fine dates - though I have to admit that the snapshot of Mark with the big lion (and him being a Leo) had me snorting a bit of coffee out of my nose. My mom, a few very close friends and a longtime love are all lovable leo's with ego's to match - made me smile.

Yikes on those surgery pics - Sheryljane and Butter's incisions look so very smooth post-op. I hope and pray that she heals well with good results. I have heard great things about Dr. Sauceda - he is one of the Dr's at the top of my list when plastics time comes for me - which I am terrified of.

My big ass is most likely going to remain a big floppy rump from the sounds of things - it used to be the biggest posterior ever - now I still have bulk there but its that weird detached bulk - I KNOW you guys knew what I am talking about - like there is a little muscular person wearing a pair of footie pajama's that has fat spots in it.

It is fascinating how different our bodies all are - I looked at her stats in her sig and it says 135 - I would have thought her larger - I look a wee bit smaller and outweigh her by 30 lbs or so and am probably older.

Fast day on Monday was over a bit - and yesterday it was a battle with the Frango's again, but kicked my ass at the gym - have been doing Jamie Eason's Livefit program from Bodybuilding.com and like it - just need to bind my exercise schedule in stone so work and everything else does not take precedence.

Have to deal with one more round of baking Christmas Cookies - and the meals at Christmas...go away candy and cookies!

I never even liked them all that much before - now I seem to looooove them - they go down so easy.

That was weird... at the end of our last date Frasier wanted to see me again right away but I said no, but the weekend would be good. Emailed me that he was sorry,he likes me but doesn't feel that spark. I am not sure I felt that spark either so I am not crushed but I found it strange that he went from wanting to see me so often to that. I speculate that it was my lukewarm response to him teaching me to ski etc. Not sure but I felt awkward at that moment and I felt a little shift in the air. Anyway maybe it is old sge but I dont feel sparked by having dinner with someone. I will be honest, even with Steven I didn't get so into him until we had been together for months....but I am old and jaded so there you go. Oh well, I have about 5 more serious contenders that want to meet, into the next one.

I dropped a Christmas arrangement off for Steven last night. He is still so sick I wanted to do something cheery even though I can't see him. He hates being mothered or fussed over so resists any attempt at caregiving which I respect. He was so moved by it,surprised me. I didn't zero in that he likes little gifts before...I have so much to learn about humans.... anyway he called and talked forever again. I wish I didn't feel love for him, but I do. Anyway he is a ski instructor so I told him my lesson plans and he told'me once I get a few lessons he will take me skiing. Scares me a little because just like the rest of his life his skiing is insane....racing and off course backcountry stuff. As an instructor he teaches advanced who want to learn SPEED. sigh...I think it would be years before I can even begin to ski in the same neighborhood he does....and I never want to race etc.

Wanda - I suspect them all of being serial killers...lol. And i have watched enough episodes of Dexter to know that serial killers NEVER look like serial killers so that clearly adds to the confusion. Actually, I think the bigger risk is of moochers, scammers and cheaters so I am watching for that too. I admitted to Steven that I wasn't too sure about him at first either but, I was pretty into the idea of finding a sexual relationship after the 5 year year dry spell so I sorta thought "may be a serial killer, but, well, what are you gonna do?" Then, once we did have sex, I was like "I don't care if he is a serial killer, I want more of THAT" haha. It did take me probably two months before I became really enamoured with him though so I am apparently odd.Other people get bored and the passion wanes with time... I tend to start slow and it goes from there.

I love the art. Globe - that is a really good picture of yourself, what talent!

You won't be homeless when you come back to the states, you know that. All or nothing thinking is my old way, and it isn't very useful.

Frangos, fudge (and fudge like stuff) and Cookies - the unholy trinity of Christmas. Just don't go there... I can't have them around. I don't even like cookies very much but they sit there screaming that they must be eaten.... damn them!

And same to you M2G, You should keep up the painting. I want to see Chimeras work too... I think you must have some Documentation around?

Well, the scales finally gave up on the lies and told me the truth... up 2 pounds this morning! I was on the money calories yesterday, but way too much sugar. Today is the staff party, which goes on all day... Its not pretty, but is yummy. I bet I will have to re-lose 5 by the new year. :( I know I can though! Its just more of the same. Still writing it all down to the best of my ability..... oh, and the gift I drew at the staff party was 1/2 pound of chocolates!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
