Denise, try googling "best comedies on Netflix streaming"

There are websites that keep top 25 lists for different types of shows - it's where I get ideas of shows to try. I would have never seen "witching and bitching" without reading it on a list (Spanish made comedy about incompetent bank robbers, war of the sexes, child custody battle, witches coven, police officers that fall in love - this movie has all the ridiculous elements)

I suspect my tastes run a bit dark (dark comedies for example) but I will post some ideas later. I like documentaries alot, just watched on old one about mount st Helens that was incredible.

Another beautiful day...going riding again. Yesterday my mare was very very naughty....

Thank You Kim. I hope so too.

I am currently trying to take legal action against my first surgeon for not sending me for an MRI when I asked for one, and he let it get this bad. The mal practice attorney said I can't bc I don't have a permanent injury. We shall see. I have to have an echo cardiogram tomorrow bc being septic can damage the heart.

I used to work for an attorney and she wants to take it on. Time will tell.

Thinking of you Denise, and our friends beyond the pond, and Brown wherever you are ...

Please practice self-care Denise and get yourself on some strong head meds, at least for the short term. Our minds and bodies are so interconnected that even the most upbeat attitude cannot totally overcome gut and brain trauma. See a counselor and love yourself <3

So, total weight loss for feb was another 3 lb - that makes me a pound off my top end bounce... not too bad and at least it is coming off, albeit very slowly! I'll keep on though, as I always do. Slightly changed my diet by adding more fruit and veg and less Protein, I know it goes against the grain a little but it has really made a difference in how my tummy feels, defo a lot less bloated... oh and better news in the loo dept too, if you know what I mean! lol

I've given up sugar (in tea and coffee, with the idea that I don't go back), choc, biscuits and sweets for lent too. I have defo been having sugar withdrawal but I am getting through it now. Making more of an effort to move more = my daughter is on board and we are doing some bits and pieces together, which is lovely! She doesn't need to 'lose weight' but she wants to get fitter, leaner and toned - so I can't fault that.

Hugs to all across the pond.... hope you are all ok... x

Coops you are doing great!! Slow and steady wins the maintenance race!!!

I have abandoned 5:2 and am doing great without it so I feel a little fraudulent trying to claim what I do is even in the same ballpark. What is working is eating very light several days a week, and avoiding eating at night so I have a true overnight fast.

I went to a sports medicine doctor and had my bum knee ultrasounded. It was so uplifting! This doc said my muscles, tendons and ligaments are outstanding, good mass and strength. I have mild to moderate arthritis but he said not nearly as bad as he would have expected for a 50year old who used to be well over 300#. He blessed my active lifestyle and gave me tips on things. I am doing more PT to get me ready for mountains to be climbed and horses to be galloped this summer.

Then he said something that was so uplifting. He told me I was in the top 1percent of people who turned their health around and to always be proud of what a huge accomplishment that is. Well, I don't know about top 1percent but it made me think of our little group of superstars here. We moan over 10# but truth is we have achieved and are maintaining something really incredible. If you ever forget that....look at old photos.

I am back from Eugene where I saw the infection specialist. 3 more weeks shooting antibiotics into my arm and I will be done. I so look forward to that day.

Cathy from the UK is just  so sweet. She had flowers sent to my home and surprised me. What a sweetheart!

Did I tell you how my foot slipped of the brake and on to the gas and I drove into my house? It's a mess.

I've been getting estimates. I have a rental car . My car had 2500 worth in damages  and about 5,000 damage to the house. Just what I need.

I feel like a complete idiot

Weigh wise I am doing fine. holding at 140.  I can't wait to get back to gym . I have only gained 5 lbs but my clothes fit like I've gained 20.

Don't forget how much bloat you probably have on board, what with all the medications, IV drips, etc etc etc. Once it is all flushed out of your system you will probably find that you haven't gained any weight at all.

I'm feeling better, about the job, mentally, emotionally. I have sat down with my neurogist and I have begun the self care, I even have a prescription for MASSAGE! and it is covered by INSURANCE!!! I went yesterday and the therapist worked on my shins, she commented that I had some of the strongest/toughest shin muscles she has ever worked on! She drove all her strength into smooshing those muscles and the euphoria it released into my body was as good as the drugs I had after my spinal tap went wrong, as good as an orgasm!

My big fat body still makes me sad but, through a combination of rising up the learning curve at work, new head meds and spring weather, I'm feeling better about a lot of things :)

Denise, could be worse... I knew someone who did that, stone sober, only she plowed into a 7-11 convenience store. Took out the big glass window... sheesh... she must have had to jump a curb to do it! Of course, she was a brand new driver, but still... people have done much worse. Be nice to yourself - you have been through alot.

Had my first PT appointment - went well and we have a plan to get me ready for Iceland this summer. 6-8 hours a day of fast hard riding for a full 7 days... woo hoo! Now, i just need to book that trip!

All booked for Costa Rica, but that will be easy peasy.

Another beautiful day - life is good but I have been eating too much. :)

morning all! I have been a little absent, getting ready for a big show... over 75 pieces done over the last 30 years. I AM OLD... but not dead yet! The show looks fab. I will post a pic.

You are so right! My doc keeps hounding me to lose 5-10 pounds, but really, I feel so successfull... even with the weight gain. It is so true, we have beaten the odds, all of us. SO FAR... aways vigelent....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
