Looking for "buddies" in Michigan, more specifically Grand Rapids area...

I have the sample size of the unflavored unjury but honestly haven't tried it yet. I got some squash Soup with that it mind but haven't gotten around to it;)

I bought a canister of Synthrax (sp?) unflavored while I was shopping on Amazon the other day. I hope it comes in handy. The reviews were very high.

It does look a bit challenging to get all your Protein in while keeping calories at a minimum. But you are losing so well, I bet you are very pleased!!!

I only had a 1week preop just due to when surgery and the preop visit were scheduled. I had a low BMI and did not do all liquid, I did as described with bars, meals, and Snacks. Avoid the Soups at all costs, trust me.

Thanks for the heads up regarding the Soup. It's a bummer that we have to eat pre made processed food but I guess it's the best way for them to keep track of caloric and Protein intake. I'm relieved that it isn't a two week liquid diet. I do have some anxiety that they are still going to tell me that when I show up on Monday--haha.

How do you feel about the procedure overall and your weight loss? Are you pleased? How are you doing incorporating it into your daily life?

I am pleased with how everything has gone so far. Very thankful that I have not had any complications(so far). I am struggling with the post op liquids but its tolerable and I will not do anything to sabatoge this. (I am adding a splash of coffee to my Protein Drinks which makes a world of difference!) I was told no caffeine but I am being naughty on this, 1/4 cup is all I am intaking :)

To my fellow GHP buddies---you were right about my pre-op diet! I came home today with lots of boxes and pouches of freeze dried and other processed "food". I start tomorrow. I'm relieved it isn't all liquid BUT I have to say the ingredients in these products leave a lot to be desired.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well!!

It's exciting to hear all the positive comments about Dr. Foote. I have my surgery scheduled for November 12th (11.12.13 - interesting date!) with him at St. Mary's! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I start my 2 week pre op on October 29th.

Can y'all tell me more about your experience with Dr. Foote and GHP? How was St. Marys? I understand the rooms are private and nice. Is that a fair assessment? Is there a cot or pull-out for someone (husband) to sleep on and stay in the room with me? How as GHP's product for the pre and post op?

Thanks for all your help in calming my nerves and sharing your experiences!

Susan.

The care at St. Mary's is awesome. There is a couch in the room that your husband can sleep on. Sophie's house is across the road from the hospital where you can rent a room. My surgery was with the Divinci robot. No complications. I'm 9 weeks post op, I can eat anything without a problem, just not very much.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
