2btrim 129 Posted July 12, 2013 Just wondering if anyone has gone to Mexico alone for their surgery and if so how did you do. My husband needs to stay home to take care of our pets and I don't really want to put anyone else out by asking them to accompany me.
linda305 173 Posted July 12, 2013 I haven't had surgery yet but why dont you get a sitter for the pets and have your husband accompany you. Just a suggestion 3 LI Gemini NY, chickadee73 and DeezJeanz reacted to this
AmyInOrlando 348 Posted July 12, 2013 I'm going by myself on July 31st. I emailed the coordinator and asked her to send me the email address and phone number of the other Patient being sleeved the same day. I'm coming from Orlando, She's coming form California. We spoke on the phone for over an hour. I feel like when I get to Mexico it's going to feel like I'm meeting an old friend. I can't wait to meet my "sleeve Sister". 8 sherry24184, tbrown9, Jenniferkatie and 5 others reacted to this

2btrim 129 Posted July 12, 2013 NoMoreDonuts, My husband does not want me to go alone, but if he comes, that means I will have to tell my mom and dad who live right down the road and would be the one's taking care of my animals. That wouldnt be so bad but 2 yrs ago my brother flew to California, bought a truck and drove it back here to Louisiana. It sent her into a tailspin of extreme anxiety that took months to get her out of. I shutter to think what going to Tijuana Mexico for weight loss surgery would do. Trying to get over there and back without her knowing anything about it until its all over. Just thinking about it is stressing me out and I want to go eat something. So it's best that the hubby stays home & keeps everything under wraps. He only needs to tend to a 4-year old, a dog & 2 cats for 4 days. Not the whole farm! Best of luck! 1 2btrim reacted to this

Sherri297 81 Posted July 12, 2013 Honestly I'm glad me husband didn't go with me.......he doesn't do "nothing" well, and he would have been so bored that I would have been filled with anxiety, You'll do just fine alone, but it is nice to have some one there for you. I took my 67yr old mother with me and she handled it very well. Maybe you have a close friend or cousin? 2 Jenniferkatie and 2btrim reacted to this
