chicken, turkey deli meat and tuna salad mostly.

Laura-ven - some plans transition you right to soft solids after 2 weeks. When I went to my NUT and she was explaining the soft solid phase to me I asked about puree. She told me that they use to have a puree stage, but found that a lot of patients were skipping that and just chewed their food really well and did not have any problems so they just go straight to soft solids now.

Straight from liquids to soft foods here, and I'll be transitioning this weekend as well. Basically, my requirements are that I be able to mash it with a fork, that it's not too fibrous, and no bread, no white Pasta, no seeds. Two weeks of that and then I'm ready for regular food.

So far I seem to be the sleeve of steel type, too. I'm not sure if that's good or bad!

I'm in the soft/puréed stage so I guess that means I don't have to purée stuff all the time? I have not been getting nearly enough calories in so I had some soft scrambled eggs with cheese! OMG it was heaven and went down easy! I think things are starting to look up now that I got my reflux meds switched! I will be 3 weeks out on tues. maybe I'm just healing as well!

What the hell puréed could possibly taste good?

It might not look appetizing, but everything tastes just as good as the unpureed version.

My first meals were deviled eggs, applesauce, tuna salad, chicken thighs, and bananas. I dreamed about the deviled eggs.< /p>

I just made tuna with light miracle whip and relish! YUM I'm on soft foods so I didn't purée the tuna, just smashed it up really well! Has anyone else did this on the soft stage?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
