Not personally---but there are lots of Texans on here, hang on, and someone will have something for you!!! If you don't get much response try bumping your question at another time, to get to new members, who might not be around tonight.

Good Luck in your research and welcome to LBT!!!

No experience with Tyler docs - but how close are you to Richardson? (DFW)... I loved my doc and I loved the Surgery Center of Richardson. I also know that there are several other great docs that work out of that center - so it might be worth the drive to check it out.

They have regular seminars, too. Just google Surgery Center of Richardson.

Hi Chelle. I was going to use Dr. Babineau in Tyler. He is VERY good. Things just didn't work out for me. It was nothing personal, just a glitch. I really liked him. There are a lot of people that have used him. He has a web site. Tylerbariatrics.com check him out.

Dr. Babineau will be performing my surgery March 7th. I have heard nothing but good things about him. When I went to his consultation he answered all my husband's questions and gave him a totally different outlook about the surgery. My husband was originally against the surgery, but I now have his full support. I live in Tyler so let me know how everything goes.

I have heard really good things about Dr Babineau as well. I thought about using him, but then Dr Querry came to Pittsburg. Since she is local I decided to use her. Her office staff spend a lot of time with you and I have been VERY pleased. Pittsburg is about an hour north of Tyler, so the drive would probably not be worth it for you. I have heard really good things about Dr Babineau.

Best wishes to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
