Hello, I'm 4 months post op now and since my surgery I've lost a total of 43lbs. However, this past month seems like my weight is at a stand still. I definitely have lots more weight I need to lose, but I'm am feeling discouraged. Is there people that can relate to my situation? I started at 313 and started and I'm currently at 269 and I'm 5'6. Surgery date was 04.08.2013

Here's the typical answers, are you getting in your Water? And are you tracking your protien/ calories? I am only 4 weeks out, but friends who have gotten it before me warned me to not judge everything by the scale. They say it goes back and forth between pounds and inches. Sometimes they see a change on the scale, other times it stays the same, but when they measure they can tell a difference with the inches measurements, even if it is just a few added up all over. Keep plugging along, it will come!

you are ONLY 4 mos out, if you follow the RULEs, yes, you will continue to lose, PLEASE DO NOT weigh daily...... go to ONCE A MONTH.......think you are not losing...... try on some of your old TIGHT FITTING CLOTHES...... you are losing..........inches only maybe, but you are losing. STOP focusing on the ONE EYED MONSTER.........and I MEAN THE SCALES!!!!!!!.... your body has to adjust. YOU did NOT put it on overnight, what in the world makes you think it is going to MELT overnight, GIVE your body time to heal, adjust, It has almost 2 years and I am STILL LOSING!!!!!!!!! Don't rush your body! Check back to this post in a year and let us know how you are feeling! :D

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
