Pregnancy post sleeve.

Recommended Posts

Hello all! I have a few questions. I just found out im prego (4 weeks along). I lost about 140 pounds in 14 months. My surgery date was 4/16/12. How did you keep up on eating. Sometimes I forget to eat all day. And were you considered high risk?

you won't forget to eat. I am 9 months and up 58 pounds. You are not high risk.

My baby is fine. In the 50th percentile.

Set a timer if you're really bad about eating. I got to a point where even though I'm not hungry (physically) there's no way I'd forget to eat a meal. You'll feel sick otherwise and your body will tell you to eat.

It helped me to log my calories during the early months when I worried about my intake. An extra shake here and there will dispel any worries about nutrition.

My daughter was born pretty small but then, we have small babies in our family so I have no idea if that's the sleeve or not. I was induced a tiny bit early due to fears of IUGR but she was absolutely fine, just small, as I said.

Congrats, and here's hoping you have a healthy nine months!

Thanks ladies! My dr is concerned since I still can only get in 700 calories a day. My sleeve is still super tight. I eat more than 2-3 oz and up it comes. Typically our military base will only start seeing you after 7 weeks or so but my PCM is concerned so she pushed through the consult. Plus I was so "plump" with my son that they had to do a vertical c section. Which also tip the scales towards high risk.

An extra shake will pad those calories - and now is a great time to opt for the "splurge" (as I call 'em) shakes like the BSN Syntha-6 ones. Higher in calories but man, just like a milkshake. It was too much for me in loss but I added them into my rotation when pregnant.

I also have serious restriction - one hard boiled egg or one scrambled egg and a piece of turkey sausage and I'm stuffed. Carbs go down easier, of course. I'm still hard pressed to get 3 oz. of anything but chicken in a sauce down at one time.

My pregnancies were pre-sleeve, but just wanted to reassure you about your vertical incision. I also had a "Classical" c-section with my first b/c it was am emergency. My second pregnancy was twins, and the docs never worried about my vertical incision being a problem and it wasn't. Don't worry about that!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
