lovexciaral 38 Posted July 9, 2013 I can't believe I'm finally posting in the post-op forum! I had surgery yesterday and I am finally getting some Water today. I never thought I would be so excited to have water. Everyone except my family thinks I had my gallbladder out. I'm scared to tell people. 3 JerseyGirl68, avanti and LonghornNiner reacted to this
LonghornNiner 75 Posted July 9, 2013 Congrats!!! Good luck your journey Right now shouldn't be about what other people think. Your recovery and health are important for the success of this surgery. In time I am sure you will be able to share your story with friends and family and if they are truly friends and family they will embrace it. Have a great day and good luck in recovery 4 lovexciaral, francie348, Aliese and 1 other reacted to this
ms.k 20 Posted July 9, 2013 LoL my friends and family think I had an ulcer, didn't want to be judged!! Just a white lie, not hurting anyone!! and, I am happy!! Good luck with the Water and if it gets tough to drink, add a little lemon, works great!! Best of luck on your journey!!! 1 Aliese reacted to this
francie348 7 Posted July 9, 2013 Congratulations!! I agree with LonghornNiner, don't worry about who knows or thinks what, just concentrate on taking care of yourself and recovering! It will come in time if you decide to share your story. I am 4 days post-op and feeling better each day! I only shared with a few key people closest to me what I was doing. I will know if and when it's time to share with others. You made a huge step to do something to better yourself physically, etc, and you are in control of when and who knows. Hang in there, and follow your surgeons orders to the T! I wish you all the best during your recovery! 2 lovexciaral and LonghornNiner reacted to this
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted July 9, 2013 Most people think I had stomach surgery because of an ulcer.......I like it this way....never planning on sharing the truth with too many....... 3 lovexciaral, francie348 and ms.k reacted to this
cherip 33 Posted July 9, 2013 Only my immediate family know the truth as well. I want it to be a surprise when we go to the family reunion in February!!! I am soooooooooo proud of myself.
lovexciaral 38 Posted July 9, 2013 Thanks for the support. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one keeping a secret. They gave me Jello and broth now. The Jello was so good. But I feel like I just ate a ton! 1 ms.k reacted to this
nridore 9 Posted July 9, 2013 It's also the day after my surgery, I also agree that the Jello tastes & feels better going down but I can't finish it in 1 sitting.
RJ'S/beginning 5,358 Posted July 9, 2013 Seems to me you are right on track......You will gradually be able to eat more and tolerate more but it takes time .....There will be things you ate before that don't taste good anymore and other things you will love to eat...It is all a learning experience......I love fish and rarely ate it before my surgery....... 1 lovexciaral reacted to this
