What would you like to know? I was sleeved on 7/3 at florence by Dr. Garcia. I don't think I could be any happier with the experience or the results.

If you go into Florence Hospital expecting a hospital like you see in the U.S. you will be very disappointed. It is an older hospital, but it is as clean as any hospital you will find. The equipment is older, but works fine.

The staff is amazing, honestly. You don't see Dr. Garcia very much, but what you do see he is very, very kind and knowledgeable. Dr. Velazco is amazing!! She is the doctor who comes to the hotel and really answers most of your questions. And she has been sleeved also!!!! The anesthesiologist was great, more than willing to sit down and explain everything to you. The nursing staff, while not great with English, was very attentive and provided wonderful care.

The Marriott was fine, your standard hotel, nothing special or fancy.

Samuel, the driver, is awesome, also very funny and kind. However, he drives like a wildman!!!!! Lol, that is just the typical driving in Mexico.

All in all, I was very pleased with the entire experience and would recommend Dr. Garcia and his team to anyone.

I was sleeved by Dr. Garcia in Mi hospital, and I also had a wonderful experience!!! I agree with pp, except Samuel's driving isn't wild, he actually drives a lot better than the cab drivers, lol. It's a crazy experience how they drive in Mexico, so just be prepared for that aspect being different.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
