Keranique shampoo

Recommended Posts

No. Shampoos work externally, on the outside of the skin. The Hair loss is due to internal factors, the direct result of the surgery such as shock, anesthesia, etc. or nutritional deficiencies such as Protein, zinc, etc. Also, according to medical studies, Biotin does not reduce hair loss.

I've been using Nioxin and I think it has either slowed down my Hair loss a little or has helped with regrowth. Seems a little better.

From my research so far, it seems that nothing really stops it - it will be what it will be. However, the good news is that you only lose hair for a few months, and then it will begin to go back to normal. I have decided that I am far more self-conscious of it than I need to be - my hair person didn't even notice until I started complaining about it. I figure that I will just live with it for now because there doesn't seem to be a miracle cure for it.

I lost a lot of hair with a diet 3 years ago... Three years later still really thin on top. I was worried about bald spots, it was getting that thin. Knowing that this surgery is coming up I bought Biotin and have been taking 5000mcg daily and my hair is getting thick! Very thick... I keep reading that it doesn't work, but I disagree I have the proof.

Biotin certainly thickens the hair u have and helps with the re growth - but nothing stops the Hair loss if its going to happen. If there was something we could all take to prevent it, the ad men would have ads on every page of this site - and I would be at the front of the queue buying ;/)

Heck ... Wear a wig until the regrowth comes in... It's worth it. But losing the hair does suck

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
