Any body got sleeved on their birthday?

Recommended Posts

When I was given a date to be sleeved in may 2013, I told them that it was impossible cos my coworker was on vacation that week. My dept is small and 2 people cannot be on vacation at the same time cos of coverage. The office manager just gave me the calendar and told me to pick a date suitable for me. I tried to avoid being sleeved on my birthday which is June 5th but on second thought, I told myself that this will be the best birthday present that I can give myself. Moreover, I will never forget that date. Yes, I spent my birthday under the knife but not cutting the cake.

Almost! My birthday was friday, the 5th and I am getting sleeved tomorrow. No cake for me, just my liquid shakes! I feel the same - it's a great way to start a new year with a new beginning!

I was sleeved on 07/03 as well...I'm also feeling pretty terrible. I'm better than I was but it's still just a lot to take in. I'm so sick of broth already that it literally makes me nauseous to smell it. Jello is getting old really fast too. And I'm itching...OMG my incisions are itching so bad! What's going on with u? Any of the same food aversions? What are u doing about it?

I am still pretty miserable. I just have no appetite. I am still pretty nauseas and really only getting Water in at this point. I probably got 1/2 Protein shake down throughout the day but that's it. I'm really hoping this gets better fast. I have three young kids and need to get back to work. Ah!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
