StarryNightSky 17 Posted July 7, 2013 As part of my clearances I had to have a stress test done. Has anyone had this done? What should I expect? The cardiologist mentioned that I would be on a treadmill and that the speed would progress and I would have to run for 9 minuets if I can. I told her I would give it my best shot. MIJourney 490 Posted July 7, 2013 I had one a couple of years ago unrelated to WLS. They actually stopped the treadmill test after a short time as my heart rate went up too fast. Ended up having a Lexiscan about a week later as a subsitute where they take pics (MRI-like) then inject you with something that replicates walking on a treadmill (speeds up your heart) and then take more pics. Hope you can just do the treadmill test!
H&H 13 Posted July 8, 2013 They are just trying to get your heart rate up. I went 10 minutes and was fine. you will do just fine
NewAshes 232 Posted July 8, 2013 I only made it 6 mins but they just make you walk and increase speed and incline to make sure your heart can handle surgery. It's nothing worry about. You should wear a sports bra though
