thinnerdaysahead 48 Posted July 7, 2013 I love your name - my daughter and I have been to disneyland 50 times (she is 13 now). Is there anything in the liquid diet that is more satisfying? I'm sorry your miserable, but your doc will have space to work in your abdominal area and you will have a better recovery. Do you have a sleeve sister? disney2013 0 Posted July 7, 2013 I love Disney although I haven't been quite that many times. We did go this past March though. I have tried several different brands and flavors of Protein Shakes. My favorite is Bariatric Advantage banana. The shakes are getting very old though so it is hard to force myself to drink 3 a day. Luckily 3 days after surgery I will be able to eat sugar free pudding and no sugar added Greek yogurt. I have never tried Greek yogurt so hopefully it is good. Your thread was actually the first time I posted. I have been reading for months now.

My target has sugar free syrups (caramel, hazelnut etc) that give the shake a different taste. I saw one person post that having chipped ice helps with the need to chew something. thinnerdaysahead 48 Posted July 12, 2013 Thanks - now sleeved, not too much pain, very little energy, hard to drink in little sips but, thanks to God I;m home and doing better. How are you doing? How was your surgery?
disney2013 0 Posted July 12, 2013 Same here. The first 2 days were pretty bad. Today has been much better. I'm not sure how to get in all the liquids. I just keep sipping.

thinnerdaysahead 48 Posted July 12, 2013 Same here. The first 2 days were pretty bad. Today has been much better. I'm not sure how to get in all the liquids. I just keep sipping. I have several liquids going - v-8, Protein Drink, mint tea, bottle of Water - I just keep sipping and do the best I can. If I take more than 2 sips at a time I have pain in my sleeve (feels like chest pain) sort of. Our new stomachs are still swollen and hopefully we can drink more at a time as the swelling goes down. The staples are made of titanium and we will form scar tissue over them. They will last longer than us. I have titanium implants in a few teeth and they have never bothered me and I am very sensitive even to 14K gold.

latina71 3 Posted July 12, 2013 Is this pressure pain and having to chew your food 50x go away? Or will we be able to eat less without all this discomfort?? When did anyone feel the difference.
thinnerdaysahead 48 Posted July 13, 2013 So when is the best time to introduce fish, tuna seafood etc.?? I'm almost 3 weeks out My md's plan is for sleeved patients to introduce regular food (no chunks or too thick) after 6 weeks. Your body should let you know even then, if you are ready or not.
