PaNailGirl 44 Posted July 6, 2013 Does anyone else have this? I was only having it sometimes, but now all the time! I'm wondering if its a gas problem!! As soon as I drink anything it goes down fine, then I get a sharp pain in my lower chest, then a gurgle/ burp and it feels better!

PaNailGirl 44 Posted July 6, 2013 Not sure how far post op you are but this happened to me up to 3 weeks post op. It diminished over time and now 6 weeks post op it rarely happens. Thank You!! I was sleeved on June 25th! I was doing really well with getting my fluids and Protein in, but this pain makes me not want to drink anything! Ugh guess I better get over it! Maybe the more I drink the better it will get!
prettychica13 39 Posted July 6, 2013 It happens to me also... It's the air trying to leave your tummy as your Fluid makes it way down. unfortunately our esophagus isn't flexible... I usually stand there patting my chest and kicking my leg. My dad jokes that I look like I'm about to take flight. Lol! 2 Nursebarbie and neneh_vsg reacted to this
PaNailGirl 44 Posted July 6, 2013 Oh please tell me this gets better!! I'll never get all of my Fluid and food in!
prettychica13 39 Posted July 12, 2013 I wish I could tell you that it does but it doesn't. My doc told me that if I do it too often I'll end up stretching my esophagus and making a pouch where I can fit more food. And we all know more food equals more weight. So as soon as I feel that little movement from my tummy I stop eating immediately.
