Day 4 Post Op - Feeling GREAT

Recommended Posts

Hello! I had my sleeve done on 7/2 and after reading a few comments on here I was afraid I was going to wake up feeling TERRIBLE today as a lot of people seem to feel bad on day 4. To my surprise, even though I didn't sleep much, I woke up and feel great. I put up dishes, paid bills, cleaned my room up a bit from the stuff laying around when I got home from the hospital & finished my Protein Drink in about 1.5 hours. I hope each day continues this good. Right after surgery and even after I got home I was asking myself why the heck did I do this. I know it was just the pain from surgery and my body yelling at me but I was a little worried.

Well I hope everyone is doing well and feeling great on their way to a happier healthy self!

Glad you are doing well! I remember leaving the hospital thinking how stupid I was since I had walked into the hospital feeling great and fine only to leave not feeling so great! So glad I did it though. That little bit of discomfort and pain has been sooooo worth the outcome! Keep on keeping on. Do everything your Dr and NUT tell you and you will do just fine! Have a super weekend!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
