SuNMooNStaRS816 423 Posted July 18, 2013 Anyone use this brand of Vitamins? Where they good' date=' bad, or were they just tolerable?[/quote'] Children's Vitamins are not appropriate for us WLS peeps. You need a good complete adult Multivitamin with iron.....children's vitamins don't have enough of what we need in them.

SuNMooNStaRS816 423 Posted July 18, 2013 I was told by my fnp who used to work for a weight loss surgeon that children's flintstone Vitamin complete were great for us to use because they have Iron and everything we need but they need to be the complete kind not just the plain flintstone Vitamins. My surgeon told me that they just aren't good enough for us. I know alot of programs say that they are but compare the labels to the complete adult Vitamins. ASMBS Bariatric Nutrition Guidelines say to avoid children's vitamins. I just am not comfortable taking a chance with my health by taking the children vitamins. I personally now someone who took children's vitamins and by the time her docs found out she had a Vitamin deficiency she had irreversible neurological damage. But of course listen to your surgeon and do what you feel is best for you. We are our own best advocate. 1 SheWins1 reacted to this
buckeyefan1985 29 Posted July 18, 2013 Thanks for the responses. My doctor has advised me they are okay. He is extremely conservative with his care. He advocates a 2 week pre-op diet and then 1 month at the liquid, purée, and mushie stage. Quite a bit different than many subscribers to this site. I'm going with his opinion since this is his area of expertise. Everyone needs to do what they determine to be right for them. 1 SuNMooNStaRS816 reacted to this
mandyrenee82 59 Posted July 18, 2013 Go with your gut instinct and your dr. I couldn't stomach the adult mvi after surgery and they recommended flintstones complete. Has 100% of everything except Calcium I think but I get a lot of that anyway. Good luck with your weight loss journey.
