I don't think so. I hate hotdogs but I think I'd be able to eat that much.

I hope I can stay away from hot dogs, in general. I think I will with between 6 to 8 oz of food. (at a month out)

No, I am a year out and I could eat a whole hot dog and bun at 8 months. It gets scary how much you can eat after a year. I try to avoid the carbs as much as possible. Next time just eat the hot dog, no bun. It's like the training wheels come off. It's all you pretty soon.

Me too. The good thing is there still a level of restriction so I can't go back to eating a whole pizza. Seriously, I could eat a whole pizza. Now I can eat a slice and I am done 3/4 through.

I promised myself that I would eat pizza until I got to goal and was able to maintain before I eat pizza. I could eat 2 slices and 3-4 hot wings previously.

4 months and a week out, never it would be possible for me to eat a hotdog with a bun. I dream about the things I will probably never be able to eat again. A big Italian meal, fair food....A burger and fries...oh well I have found that I have a new level of satisfaction with the things I can eat. And I know that their is a lot of opinions over whether or not sleeve stretching is possible and my intuition and own felling tells me it is possible so I am aware when I eat that I do not want to do that. I think that is why some ppl are able to eat more at 9 months than at 4. I am not claiming to know this for sure its just my humble opinion so no hate mail please.

You know, I was just thinking about this today. At four months your stomach is all healed, right? So why would we (me) be able to eat much more at 8 months? I think the whole "stretchy part being cut out" is just another sales pitch. Like the hunger hormone being removed and we will never feel hungry again!

Ive had the same assumptions, but was told differently by those who had surgery previously. My experience is they were right, because I dont over eat. I know we should be healed after several months, but there is gradual difference over time that Ive noticed in myself. I think I was limited a lot at first due to the hernia repair and Im thinking the swelling takes quite some time to go away completely..... I do love my sleeve though!!

I would have to agree. I do think everyone is different. There are some foods that I will never be able to tolerate. And others that another sleever is fine with. I don't do well with high sugar foods. My coworker she can eat pancakes, frappuccinos, etc. I get dizzy after a certain amount of sugar. I am at goal. She had her surgery in Feb12. mine June12. We both feel we can eat a lot more than we could a couple mos out. Now hunger is a different thing. I don't get really hungry. A bite or two satisfies me. I sometimes feel lightheaded because I forget to eat.

And I was counting on these 2 things: They'd remove the stretchy part (so I'm not like a gastric bypass patient and weight more in 5 yrs than I do now) and removal of the Ghrelin. Now I'm bummed. Do you feel hunger like you did in the beginning and can you eat more now than when you started eating solid food again?

Just curious...

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
